Lifeguard I Description
Pay Scale: $9.50-10.50/hour
Days/Hours: Weekday and Weekend shifts.
Job Description:
Responsible for the safety of members and participants in and around the aquatic facility. Prevent potential accidents by adhering to policies set forth by the American Red Cross and the Coggan Family Aquatic Complex.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Current Lifeguard Training certification
- Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification
- Current First Aid Certification
- Title 22 Certification (Preferred)
- Must pass a written and practical skills exam
Representative Duties
- Practice preventative lifeguard techniques at all times to include
o Positioned to have full view of the area of responsibility above and below the surface.
o Continuously scan the area of responsibility
o Perform appropriate rescues when necessary
- Attend in service trainings as scheduled
- Participate in random and scheduled lifeguard drills
- Administer First Aid/CPR as necessary
- Perform pool related maintenance duties
- Know the pool rules and educate participants of them
- Answer general information questions about facility
